 Hanshi Hiroshi Ishikawa

Hanshi Hiroshi Ishikawa was born in 1947, Miyazaki, Japan. Hanshi Ishikawa trained with two of Shotokan legends, Kancho Hirokazu Kanazawa (SKIF) and Master Masatoshi Nakayama (JKA). He is currently a member of SKIF and head of the SKIF Pan American region.

Hanshi Ishikawa in his time as a student in Japan, was a champion winning several state tournaments. Hanshi belongs to the second generation of Japanese teachers of Master Funakoshi after they were sent by the JKA (Japan Karate Association) to various parts of the world to spread Shotokan Karate-Do.

Hanshi Ishikawa, even though based in Mexico, teaches Shotokan Karate-do, not only in Mexico but also in Venezuela, Guatemala, Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina and USA. This instructor of SKIF (Shotokan Karate-Do International Federation), considered by many the best Sensei in Mexico and the Pan American region.

Hanshi Ishikawa first came to Mexico for the first time in 1976 at the age of 28 years and in 1980 he was technical director of the Secretariat of Sport, and the Mexican Association of Karate-Do.

Hanshi Ishikawa is currently the highest authority in Latin America, and is responsible for most countries with their technical development in SHOTOKAN (which incidentally Hanshi Ishikawa finds a way of life, not a sport). For his tenacity and determination in teaching he is has earned the title of “The Tiger of America”.
